Happy Thoughts:

See You Later Baby

Today turned out to be not as bad as I thought it would be. Turns out hubby got to come back home for a couple hours and caught a ride with the neighbor to the ship, so he could leave his car here. So somehow getting to see him once more made it a little better. We spent our time holding each other and watching Avatar, which I won from Amber over at Goodnight Moon. I was very excited about that because I had never seen it, but it was AWESOME! So thanks again Amber! We laughed and talked while we watched it. We talked about how awesome it would be if we could build a huge tree house in one of the humongo trees in their forest. It wouls be like a mansion. I loved all the colors, and crazy flowers, and trees they had. It was a great movie, so glad we were able to see it together before he left. I also being the the pathological picture taker I am, took more pictures before he left. I want to thank you all again for all of your support today and every day. You guys are amazing and I appreciate all of your comments and support. It really means a lot to me, especially on days like this.

That's Not Cool

First I just wanna say this is not directed at any of my followers! You guys are amazing!

Second, I'm pretty sure this is my first ever so called "rant" but this girl just REALLY pissed me off! First of all I'm kinda new to this whole Navy life stuff. Hell I have only known my husband for 10 months total. So yeah of course I am going to miss him like crazy when he leaves, we've had a long distance relationship pretty much the whole time we've been together. I just moved in with him three months ago. He's hardly been home since. I know it could always be worse, and I'm sure it will be at some point. I'm lucky that I get to see him when  I do, and that we have such a great relationship. I know that these times we are apart only make our love stronger, but...

What is wrong with missing my husband when he's gone???

I am so tired of all the negative remarks and comments I have received from other wives. We are supposed to be here to support each other, to help each other through the hard times, and to provide a shoulder or an ear when we need some support! We all go through the same issues when dealing with this military lifestyle. They all have under ways, workups, deployments. That's just how it is. Regardless of how long my husband is gone, I still miss him the same. Why is it that just because he's not gone as long as someone else's husband this time, I have to get shit for it?!?! Makes no sense, all I know is I will be more careful when choosing who I am friends with in the military from now on, because I am not going to have someone who I hardly know, who's SUPPOSED to be a "friend" treat me badly. That's not what I need nor what ANY military spouse needs in a time like this. This has not been a good start to what was inevitably going to be a bad day anyway. I'm over it though, sorry but I had to let it out! Going to take a nap now hopefully things will be better when I wake up.

and off he goes...

This weekend was absolutely amazing and romantic I spent the last three days cradled in my husband's arms dreading one thing... Monday morning, which has come. It seems like he just got home, which he kinda did. He's only been home three weeks and already he's off again. It's different this time though, he's going out on the ship this time. It's a very scary thought to me. No hearing his voice before I go to sleep. No good morning text messages. Just emails when he gets time... this is not going to be fun! I promised I was going to be strong though and be strong I shall!! I just keep telling myself not to think about what he's doing out there, not to think about him being on that big scary ship. Just imagine he's still on land and I'll be okay, I think... Well I managed to get some great pictures of us before he left so that is helping out just being able to see his smiling face.

and the winner is....

Okay girls I'm so sorry wasn't able to post yesterday, my hubby just left for his first time actually on the ship so you all know how that goes... ANYWAY! The winner of my Gambizzle Jewels giveaway is Star Spangled Stockings!!!

Nerdy F-U-N !

It's been several days since I posted about all the fun hubby and I are having, but let me tell you there has been tons of absolute nerdy fun going on. I love that he is my best friend and we can be nerds together. Normally i don't like to post with lots of pics but I don't know how else to describe all that was this weekend without them.

We spent an entire day lounging around being lazy, eating, and watching "Ponyo" & "Rescue Me" and I got to see this amazing smile all weekend. It's one of my favorite things about him.

We went out with a group of friends to a house party which is something we haven't ever done before so that was exciting.

There was lots of  beer and this monstrous sandwich involved. Hubby likes to cook for me sometimes and he decided to make the biggest breakfast sandwich he could, I then proceeded and failed to eat it. We also learned to play some drunken game called Cornhole, found a guy at the party who can do our tattoos, and ended the night laughing and dancing away at some night club down the street from us!

We spent a day at the botanical Gardens here which was amazing. It was very hot which was wonderful considering the weather we've been having. I felt like a kid in a candy store here with all the gorgeous flowers, and pictures I took, oh and there were lots! 167 to be exact, hubby kept asking for a break lol

We played with the spiders while we were there, well not literally but we spend a ridiculous amount of time watching them crawling all over the statues. They were interesting, bouncing up and down, and hanging upside down. There were tons of them crawling around.

You'd be surprised at the places we can have fun! We did some much needed grocery shopping, and made out like bandits! We hit the commissary on a day they were having a sale on literally everything on our list! We then went straight home and decided to play chef which resulted in our favorite asian food, Sesame chicken which was OMG delicious!!

So we have a few more fun filled days to enjoy before Mr. Gambizzle is off again to some place we shall not discuss, but let's just say I'm not looking forward to this trip.

I am off now to find yummy recipes for dinner and desert this weekend, and maybe even something crafty to do with the kiddos I will possibly be babysitting!

Photo Contest & Prayer Request

I decided to join this photo contest I saw this morning, I can't ever get enough of trying to learn about photo editing. It's a pretty simple contest thee aren't to many rules. Basically you just have to edit this photo....

and improve it any way you like, and here is what I came up with....

First I cropped the photo the way I liked it, then I put more focus on the subjects with the "depth of field" I created a new layer using the channel mixer so I could make the beautiful little girl stand out since she was obviously the focus, & Last I added a frame to make it pop a little more.

So after that I was looking at some of the other contestant's photos and I discovered that the little girl in this photo is Abby, Brent's daughter! Read more on her story here & pray for her please! Help spread the word the more prayers the better!

Spreading the Love

So I just joined this really awesome giveaway over at Goodnight Moon I really love her blog, it's one I  read like every day! The rules of the giveaway are posted on her blog but basically you have to follow both her blogs, answer a question, and blog about it, and you get an entry for each. Woohoo!

So go check it out & tell her I sent you and I'm spreading the love!

So to answer the question, which was: If you could do any one thing, and get away with it what would it be?

I decided I would kidnap my husband and run away with him to some place where there were no more deployments, or work ups, or any of that yucky stuff to take him away from me. As much as I love this life of ours I think I would much rather just have him home, he's gone way to much for my liking!I mean how could i not want this crazy, nerdy, silly man around like all the time just look at him...

MilSpouse Blog Hop

I'm so happy someone started one of these! I love reading other Military Wife Blogs! You can join in the fun by going here Riding the Roller Coaster

So here is a little about myself:

My name is Betty Marie, I have been married to my sailor exactly five months today!!! He is my world! He joined the Navy in August of 2008 and we met July 30, 2009. We got married exactly four months after we met on November 30, 2009. We are stationed in Virginia Beach, VA right now, and he has about two years left. We are both from Texas and lived in the same town for years without ever meeting. When he came home on leave after finishing A School we met through a mutual friend. Our relationship moved very fast, but it's been an amazing ride so far!

It's easy to join in on the fun:

* Post a brief bio on your blog introducing yourself.

* If you want to help spread the word, link back to me in your post.  I have a button on my sidebar, but a simple link is fine.

* Add your blog name and URL to the Linky.  It's best to put a link to your post, not your home page.

* Follow any or all of the blogs on the list.

* For those you choose to follow, leave a comment letting them know you found them on the MilSpouse Blog Hop. Include your blog link in the comment to make it easier for them to return the visit.

* According to blogging etiquette, you should follow everyone who follows you. But this doesn't always happen. So please try not to harbor any ill feelings if you follow someone and they don't follow you back.

* The Linky list will be up until next Thursday night so if you don't get around to everyone today, no worries.  Keep hopping throughout the next week!

Please Pray for Her

Please pray for Karie...

I can't even begin to imagine the immense amount of pain she is going through. Please keep her in your prayers, She's only 24 and she just lost her husband Cpl. Jimmy Kinsey II who was a Marine. She is asking for any of you who would like to donate to donate to two causes that meant a lot to them.
