My Friend Kevin has Cystinosis, a rare genetic disorder that causes kidney failure. Kevin had a transplant in 2008, but has been fighting acute rejection of the transplant. The transplanted kidney is no longer viable and he needs to start emergency dialysis and he needs a new transplant.
I am raising funds to help him cover his medical costs that aren't covered by insurance. Kevin has already had about $2000 out of pocket expenses related to the transplant surgery. Since care is ongoing after a transplant, the costs are also ongoing, and out of pocket costs are expected to be around $4000 more.
