Gambizzle Jewels Sale

Today has been fairly uneventful I slept in due to the loudest neighbors ever who had their video games blaring so loud I could hear everything that was going on all the way down here in my bedroom! I have decided to postpone the Scentsy giveaway I'm having and it will be re-held at the end of the month on Flip Flops & Combat Boots. All of you who have entered will still be included so No worries!

I wanted to tell you all about a sale I am having on jewelry. I have tons of new stuff out and you can see all the pictures here on Gambizzle Jewels fan page.

Please go check it out, since my love is gone it's the only thing keeping me sane. I'm still offering the 10% military discount on all items.

The current sale that's going on is for any orders over $50.00 I will take $10.00 of the entire order. This includes custom orders as well.

I have also decided to continue the BOGO earrings! So buy any pair of earrings (even custom ones) and get a second pair of your choice for FREE!!!

These two offers can't be combined though. I have been working hard to take new pictures, here are a few items that are new this week, ,please email me for prices due to all the discounts they will be different for everyone. My email is MrsGambizzle@yahoo.com.

Homecoming Jewelry:

I have also started doing custom homecoming jewelry to match the dress you will wear when he comes home! I just finished an order a couple days ago. Please email me for more details on this, it has become my favorite, I'm super excited some of you will be wearing my jewelry the first time you see him!

8/5/10

Can you see it too?

( haha I look like crap it was SOOO hot out today!)

Today I met up with Samantha from Navy Doll & Brittney from A Day in the life of a Navy Wife and we had a blast at the beach. We stayed out for quite some time until I started to turn into a lobster & Samantha's adorable baby girl passed out in her arms.

Once brittney and I got back to her house we talked for what felt like hours, but I think it was really only about two, we have a lot in common and we had a great time talking. We talked about our hubbies and how they also might have a lot in common, and we talked about our past. Then we came upon the subject of how similar our husbands look. They have the same skin tone, eye color, & they even sort of have the same smile!

I still miss my Daddycakes like mad crazy but at least I can say I have made some great friends who are making the days go by so much faster. I can't wait for him to come home so that he can meet Brittney's hubby I think they will get along very well. I got another email today and was promised another tonight, and poems soon as well! YAY me! I can't wait for those there's nothing in the world as good as his words.

Thursday Five

Well it's time for Thursday Five again... I hope many of you will join me this week in listing five things throughout the week that have or will make you happy. It's a great way to reflect on the week, even if it wasn't so great, and find little things that were. All you have to do is post five things that have made you feel...

Entry Word: happy-go-lucky
Function: adjective
1 having or showing a lack of concern or seriousness

Main Entry: de·light
Pronunciation: \di-ˈlīt, dē-\
Function: noun
2 : something that gives great pleasure

Main Entry: ec·stat·ic
Pronunciation: \ek-ˈsta-tik, ik-ˈsta-\
Function: adjective
: of, relating to, or marked by ecstasy

Main Entry: gig·gly
Pronunciation: \ˈgi-gəl\
Function: verb
: to laugh with repeated short catches of the breath

Main Entry: joy
Pronunciation: \ˈjȯi\
Function: noun
2 : a state of happiness or felicity : bliss

Then come back here and link up using the linky I have placed at the bottom so everyone can share each others  happy lists. I'm excited to see that each week I am gaining more people who join in. Thanks to all of you who do I appreciate it especially since this week I had a hard time putting together my five. It's been a rough week, but I was able to find some good in it, that's the point of this!

  1. Being able to drive him all the way to his ship was amazing, it gave us just that much extra time together
  2. All the support I have received in the last few days I am very thankful for I don't know where I'd be without comforting words from fellow military wives who know what it's like.
  3. My jewelry has taken off this week, I've gotten tons of orders and it has helped more than you could know. Designing stuff for you all keeps my mind from thinking about him so much.
  4. My "kids" who sleep with me at night help so my bed doesn't feel so empty
  5. Learning how to drive standard... I couldn't survive this time if I wouldn't have learned how to drive the Mini Cooper.

    8/4/10

    It couldn't get better

I can't make him come home, I can't go where he is, so right now it couldn't get better than getting an email. I think I almost screamed when I saw his name in my inbox. The day has been good, so what better way to end it than with the comforting words from my daddycakes. He really is amazing.

    Hey Wifey Buns,

=DD You love me don't ya! You're so cute with your pining for me, I'm doing the same I lay down at night and cant help but think, especially having the bedding from the house, of you and our kiddos! That's great hunny I know that car has a great a/c system doesn't it? and I'm happy to hear you're keeping busy... I love hearing about your day no matter how boring. So even if you next to nothing I'd love to hear about it even if you just blogged and watched a movie or a show!! So in order to be fair I'll give you the down low on what I'm doing everyday!

    MUAH!

Is it just me or does it look like they miss him too???

    Holding down the fort

    (Our parking lot)

Things have been netter today. I actually got a couple hours of sleep for the first time since my daddycakes left. I woke up early and my friend came over to hang out for a little while which helped some. I've been trying to take care of things today to keep me busy so this day will pass faster than the last few. I cleaned the house, did the laundry, and the dishes and then had a small lunch. Then I decided I would take the car and wash it myself to pass some time. So I drove around forever looking for a car wash, I'm still sorta new tot this area so I didn't know where any were. Our passenger side window has been broken for a couple weeks & won't roll up. We have been covering it with plastic at night since it usually rains.

    (Road trip in the mountains)

I love our car and I think it's the most adorable car ever, but I haven't been taking care of it lately because I was frustrated about the window. Today I had had enough of it & started pushing on it harder and harder and IT ROLLED UP! It's stuck in that position now, who cares I can use the A/C again! I am so excited about that, I know you probably think I'm crazy, but we live in a nice neighborhood where everyone drives nice cars. Our Mini Cooper is nice too, but with plastic over the window it looks kinda ghetto & I'm always scared that the interior will get ruined if the plastic comes off. Now I have one less thing to stress about since he is gone which always makes life easier. I'm excited to tell him about it too I think he will be proud of me! HAHA

This one is special to me

      Semper Gumby

I just came across Reina's giveaway, if you don't know who she is then get over to her blog and check her out because she is super sweet & she is having one heck of a giveaway right now! There are several prizes to be won but one in particular that I am dying to have. It's a 12x12 canvas print of a photo of your choice from My Fine Art and I would absolutely LOOOVE to have this one printed...

It was a very special day it was the day after Christmas believe it or not (that's Texas for you) and he flew in the night before and showed up on my doorstep to surprise me. I was still living in Texas at the time and he had already been stationed in VA. I was so sad because I thought he wouldn't be there & having him show up was the most amazing gift ever. He showed up with roses, gifts, and poems he had written for me. He stayed for an entire week and it was absolutely amazing, I had never had anyone do something like for me before. He told EVERYONE he was coming my boss knew, my parents knew, everyone but me, I don't know how they managed to keep it a secret. I remember Christmas day I was leaving work and I was so sad, my boss asked me what was wrong and I told him I missed my husband and I wished he was there, all he said was "Miracles Happen on Christmas." Later that night I was sitting in my room working on our scrapbook adding a Christmas page even though we weren't together, and he called me. he started reading me a poem & my dog started barking, then someone knocked on my door and I got scared. I opened and I was so shocked I just started crying and I couldn't even speak! I hugged him for what felt like forever, and made sure he knew he was the best thing that ever happened to me.

So this is one of my favorite photos it's very special to me & always makes me smile. I would LOVE to have it printed and hanging in our home so that anytime I am down It would be right there reminding me of the happiness he has brought to my life.

      Dreamland

I literally feel like I'm waking up from a dream. This weekend was the dream, and now that he's gone I'm back to reality. We had an amazing weekend together. We celebrated the day we met by going out to dinner and a movie with our favorite couple. We spent time laying in bed watching Netflix, we conserved water several times, we were lazy and ordered out two nights in a row, & then we spent the rest of the time just holding each other & being silly. I even managed to get a couple of pictures right before he left. I drove him to the ship and the whole way I was trying to take my time getting him there. This is the first time I actually went all the way to the ship with him & it was SOOOO hard to let him go. I did not want to turn around and walk back to that car. The whole way home I cried like a baby & then when I got home I could not fall asleep for anything. I'm not sure why this time is so hard on me, I mean since I've moved here he's been gone most of the time. I guess we just had such a great time it didn't feel real walking away from him.

I am very thankful though for all the people who have purchased jewelry from me, really it is helping so much to keep my mind off of things. I'm hoping for many more orders to come just for that purpose. I'm even thinking of having another sale just to try and bring in more orders. I'm doing my best to stay positive during the next couple months by keeping myself busy, and surrounded by people who know what I'm going through. I have some awesome giveaways coming up on my blog, I've had some great stuff donated for them. I also am going to try to start a workout routine to pass even more time. I was lucky this morning I got a phone call it was only about 3 minutes but but he said everything I needed to hear which helped me to get out of bed this morning & actually do something with my day instead of just laying around missing him. Give me a few days and I promise I won't be so down, that;s how my routine goes every time, it just doesn't usually hit me quite this hard.

Mili Mondays: Toto, We're Definitely Not Civilians Anymore!

Last week's Mili Mondays turned out amazing so I'm super excited to continue it! We have some great posts coming, including today's which is by Katie from Diaries of a Disgruntled Marine Bride-to-Be. She has a great blog and is getting married soon so go check her out.

"Toto, We're definitely not civilians anymore!":

Frank is a pack-rat. He keeps everything. So, when we were putting our belongings in storage last year, in preparation for his deployment, I was only slightly surprised to find this in the garage.

Here’s the thing about Frank, he is one of those pack-rats that doesn’t notice or miss any of his prized possessions that you put in the garbage. And so, the water jug was placed in the trash pile.

I thought I was sly and the Iraq-war water jug was history, until he came in the house waving it in the air.
Pack-rat: “Did you throw this away?”
Not-so-sly girl: “Seriously Frank, why do we need a water jug that you brought back from a deployment? I bet you don’t even remember which deployment it is from.”
Pack-rat: “It happens to be from my [either first or second, the stories all blur together after a while] deployment to Iraq. And we’re keeping it because it saved my life.”
Not-so-sly girl: “Frank, I love you, but it’s a water jug.”
Pack-rat: “Do you see this? That is shrapnel from an RPG that exploded WAY too close for comfort. I was lying on my cot and this was by my head. I didn’t have my Kevlar on. If this water jug wouldn’t have stopped that shrapnel, my skull would have. We are keeping it as a reminder of how lucky I am.”
Speechless girl: “I’ll go put it in the garage.”

(A close-up of the shrapnel in the water jug)

Every time I go into our garage, I look at that water jug and smile. This life is now so ordinary that I often forget how chaotic and crazy and un-ordinary it really is. That is, until I have one of those moments where it hits me like a ton of bricks. And I find that in those moments, I either roll my eyes and laugh or sit down and cry. And sometimes, both of those are fitting.
When I look at that water jug, pierced by the RPG shrapnel, I am reminded of all the funny, unconventional, “Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore,” moments that happen to every military spouse and significant other.
I know how off the wall my moments can be and how much they make me giggle and I often wonder what your moments are. And so, “Toto, we’re definitely not civilians anymore!” Tuesday was born!

Every Tuesday, starting tomorrow, join me in blogging about one of your stories. And then, come by my blog, Diary of a Disgruntled Marine Bride-to-Be and link up. If you don’t want to link up, leave a comment on my post and I’ll periodically feature your story!
I know I’m not the only one with a water jug pierced by RPG shrapnel memento. Well, I might be, but that’s just the way I roll and you get my drift! What has happened to you that makes you stop and think to yourself, “Toto, we’re definitely not civilians anymore!”

Thank you to Mrs. Gambizzle for letting me partake in Mili-Mondays and designing my “Toto, we’re definitely not civilians anymore!” Tuesday button! Please stop by my blog tomorrow and share your stories!

       - Katie

      Pumpkin Eater

There is no nice way to put this & I hate that it has come down to this but I have to ask please do not use any graphics from my blog (other than buttons in the sidebar of course) without my permission. I work very hard on these and I would really appreciate it if you would like to use them that you ask me first, or at least give credit to where they came from. I only say this because I have seen my header and other graphics in a couple places where they don't belong. I have been very generous in making free buttons and graphics for people in the past and only recently started charging because it got overwhelming. Please just ask...
